Buying gifts for teens can be daunting and confusing. I hear moms and grandmas agonizing and lamenting on how to choose a piece of jewelry a teenage girl is going to not only wear, but love. So I figured I should try to find out by going straight to the source, so I asked some!
Spoiler alert, what I have learned from all of the responses is that simpler is better. Versatile is better. And things you can wear everyday are better. Also designs that stack or wrap. Here are their favorites.
By far the most popular choice from ages 14 all the way up through 19 was the Minima Convertible Choker and Wrap Bracelet.
"It’s minimalistic without being too simple and the fact that it’s convertible doubles the options you have."
"The Gold Wave Band is such a fun accessory - perfect for everyday wear."
Another popular choice was stacking rings. The Satellite Stacking Rings and the Wave Bands in particular, although I think there is probably some wiggle room in which ones you choose.
There were quite a few nods to ultra simple geometric necklaces, like the Pennant, Grava, Lucky, and Harbor Necklaces.
"I also love the Pennant Necklace! The subtle geometric design is sure to go with any outfit."
And finally small post earrings appear to be on a lot of wish lists. Particularly the Orbit Posts, the Small Fragment Hoops, and the Dotted Bar Posts.
So in summary, if you go simple and understated, but with a little edge, you should be on solid ground. They want simple designs that can be worn everyday. And that makes total sense to me. Actually seems pretty darn practical. Mystery solved, straight from the horse's mouth. Go forth and shop for gifts with confidence! And thanks so much to all of my teen contributors!

I don't know about you, but I am always curious about what artists hang on their walls, or what chefs make for their families for dinner on their days off.
So I thought you guys might be curious about what jewelry I wear every day. And I mean every day.
